Dr. Uche Franklin, DNP, APRN, CNP, FNP-BC, FNP-C, RN, PHN, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and the Medical Director of Willa Healthcare and Willa Healthcare Family Clinic. Dr. Franklin has over 16 years of experience in healthcare in multiple clinical settings, Dr. Franklin provides comprehensive primary care guided years of strong clinical experience, holistic view of each patient and addressing medical needs alongside prevention, lifestyle, family support, and community resources. Dr. Franklin is a champion for chronic disease management such as diabetes, hypertension and others. She is intentional in her work in making all her patients feel whole and well. Dr. Franklin earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Metropolitan State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Metropolitan State University, as well as an associate degree and practical nurse diploma in nursing from Minnesota State, Southeast Technical College. She has been recognized for academic excellence, including the President’s Outstanding Student Award in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. At Willa Healthcare Family Clinic, Dr. Franklin’s mission is to deliver high-quality, respectful, and culturally responsive care that is tailored to each patient’s goals. As a dual- board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP and ANCC), Dr. Franklin cares for patients across the lifespan, including pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, men and women’s health. Her approach emphasizes evidence-based practice, compassion and empathy, clear communication, and practical care plans that support long-term well-being and better outcomes for acute, urgent, and chronic conditions. At Willa Healthcare, Dr. Franklin leads an integrated care model that connects patients with the right services at the right time. She partners with the care team and community providers to coordinate treatment plans, strengthen quality and safety, and improve clinic workflows. Her leadership includes developing and overseeing clinical policies and protocols, leading quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives (including chart reviews and clinical audits), supporting staff training and competency, and ensuring compliance with key healthcare standards. Dr. Franklin also offers broad in-office procedural care. Her experience includes colposcopy and LEEP for diagnosis and treatment for cervical cancer prevention, Pap smears, IUD and Nexplanon placement and removal, incision and drainage, minor wound suturing and laceration repair, skin lesion procedures (including biopsy), joint space injections, and advanced wound care for acute and chronic, wounds, including debridement, and others.
